ASC Charge Controls
The ASC is a solid state regulator that is encapsulated in epoxy. It
is ideal for 12 volt photovoltaic systems with one to five solar
modules, especially for outdoor and marine use, since it is
protected from moisture or sea spray. Low-frequency switching
prevents radio interference. A red light indicates charging and
flashes when battery is near full. “A” models include temperature
compensation to vary the full charge voltage as battery temperature
changes. Order this feature if batteries are installed in hot or
cold locations. “E” models have LVD. Dimensions: 4.7" x 2.55" x
1.5". UL listed and FM approved. 5 year warranty.
THE AUTOMATIC SEQUENCING CHARGER™ (ASC™)
The ASC™ is a solid-state charge controller for use in PV systems
with currents up to 16 amps. It is available in 6, 12, 24, 36, and
48 volt models. Options include low-voltage load-disconnect, battery
temperature compensation, and user adjustable setpoints.

THE MARK/15™ REGULATOR / MONITOR (formerly the SC3/15™)
The MARK/15™ is a solid-state charge controller for use in PV
systems with currents up to 15 amps. It is available in 12 volt and
24 volt versions. It includes a full-featured LCD meter to display
battery voltage, array current and charge set-point. It is intended
to flush-mount within a wall for a very distinctive appearance.
Options include low-voltage load-disconnect and battery temperature
compensation.

THE MARK/22™ REGULATOR / MONITOR
The MARK/20 has been discontinued
The MARK/22 is similar to the MARK/15™ (see above) but it is rated
for 22 amps of PV current. It also has a low-power consumption LCD
digital display, which can show two different system parameters
(battery voltage and array current).

Specialty Concepts Mark III Charge Controls
The Mark III/15 is designed for rugged motor home use as well as
small home power systems up to 15 amps. The Mark III/20 will control
up to 20 amps. These units features highly efficient charging and
low-frequency switching to eliminate radio interference. Digital
display metering includes status lights and analog and digital
voltage and current readings. They also features adjustable charge
set-points and array and battery fuse protection and are designed to
flush-mount in a wall cutout. To surface-mount the regulator, order
the surface-mount box below. Wiring connections are made to the back
of the unit. Dimensions: 7.5” x 4.25” x 2.25”. UL listed. 5 year
warranty.
The ASC series of controllers by Specialty Concepts Inc., is a
switching shunt type, negative ground voltage regulator for solar
battery charging. Basic models available in 12VDC, with 4A, 8A, 12A
or 16A PV ratings, and 24VDC, 8A and 16A ratings. The ASC has a
simple, low component count, 100% solid-state design and is
completely sealed against harsh environments. Standard features:
factory preset voltage limits, aluminum surface mount case,
lightning protection, barrier screw terminal strip accepts #12 AWG
wire, red charging LED and a blocking diode. In addition, models are
 also
offered with a battery temperature compensation sensor suffix A, low
voltage load disconnect (LVD) relay-suffix E (includes an LVD-LED),
or HVD optimized for sealed batteries suffix S. All are FM approved
and UL listed. Five year limited warranty.
