OkSL125 with in-built GPS receiver

Utilizing latest advancements in GPS technology, Sealite Pty Ltd has developed an internal synchronization system for the popular OkSL125 5 & 6 nautical mile range of LED lanterns. The OkSL125-GPS represents the next generation of marine lighting - as it is built within the unit, and requires no external wiring, aerial or operator intervention. If the lanterns are set to the same flash character, their flash rates will synchronized over an unlimited distance within a few minutes of operation. Full product details can be found on the OkSL125 section of the online catalogue.

Synchronization is the preferred choice of sea pilots wishing to see a clear outline of a channel or entrance to a harbour surrounded by background lighting. It is the future for channel and entrance marking. A major advantage of the internal GPS based system is that the GPS is not limited by range or line-of-sight and the lantern maintains its IP68 water immersion rating. A number of Australian ports have already commenced conversion programs, and many are evaluating the new OkSL125-GPS against their requirements.
OkSL125-GPS light flashing in synchronization

OkSL125-GPS Synchronized Lantern  The OkSL125-GPS is a 5 - 6 nautical mile LED lantern that provides the user with the ability to mark a channel, port or river with independent operating beacons that all flash in synchronization. This improves the effectiveness of marker lights by highlighting the channel, port or river outline each time the synchronized lights turn on.

With advances in electronics, Sealite has been able to produce a light that incorporates a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. No additional power supplies, aerials or control systems are required. The OkSL125-GPS is a microprocessor-based system that has been designed to provide maximum reliability and performance of the beacon over a wide range of environmental conditions.

The advanced circuitry of the lantern is protected from the marine environment through the bonding of the lens to the polycarbonate base, which is colored to allow for easy identification. The base includes a membrane pressure-vent to release any internal pressure build-up resulting from the changes in environmental temperature, without moisture ingress. The lantern also utilizes Sealite’s LED Reflector (U.S. Pat. No. 6,667,582) to increase intensity and provide an even 360 horizontal beam.

Each light operates independently and requires no operator intervention. At dusk the light sensor will turn the light on. Synchronization is achieved using an internal algorithm based on the highly accurate time base and time data received from the satellites. The satellite data is provided from a number of earth stations using atomic clocks as the time base. If time data is available the light will come on synchronized to every other light with the same selected flash code.

OkPOSEIDON 1750

The OkPOSEIDON 1750 Buoy is manufactured from UV stabilized polyethylene, has been specifically designed to withstand the harsh marine environment, and boasts a huge 23mm wall thickness - making it one of the toughest polyethylene buoys on the market. The buoy has a 2.5 meter focal height (up to 3 meters with extension), and a 1.75 meter diameter.

The OkPOSEIDON 1750 is a lightweight, low-maintenance, cost-effective approach to traditional floating aids. The buoy consists of 3 parts; the flotation section, the mid-section and a navaid (top) section. This enables the individual coloring of each section during the molding process to meet IALA recommendations for specific installations, and cost-effective transportation. The top section incorporates the solar modules, batteries, LED beacon and insertion fittings to accommodate top marks and accessories. This section is fitted with up to 60watt solar modules, charging up to 140Ah batteries. A watertight 316-grade stainless steel battery access door protects the internal components and connections of the unit. The Sealite OkSL125 LED lantern is readily fitted to the top of the buoy, and a 316-grade stainless steel grab rail is fitted below the top section - allowing for easy maintenance.

The flotation section contains internal stainless steel cross-braces, linking both sets of lifting and mooring eyes. This ensures mooring and lifting stresses are evenly shared across the structure. After ballast is added, the bottom section is filled with expandable styrene beads. These are then steamed to form a solid styrene mass for maximum flotation and durability. The standing platform on the surface of the flotation section is molded with an anti-slip pattern, and conforms to CSIRO specifications.

To service worldwide demand, has selected a multi-national company for the rotational molding of the OkPOSEIDON 1750 buoy, and has strategic molding locations on three continents with the support of company's 11,000 staff worldwide. 3-4 Mile Lanterns

Ok-Sea lite's 3-4 mile lanterns represent a traditional approach to marine navigation, combined with advantages of LED technology.
Boasting large, accessible battery compartments, inter-changeable 20 LED flasher units, and large external solar modules, the lanterns are ideal for heavy-duty conditions.
The models are available in a variety of solar/battery configurations for various latitudes and duty-cycles.
Configurations range from small 2watt solar modules and 1.2ah battery capacity (OkSL30/32) used in high-medium sunlight conditions such as Australia and the Maldives, through to large 12watt modules and 7ah batteries (OkSL23 / OkSL24) used by the Canadian Coast Guard.

5-6 Mile Lanterns

The OkSL125 lantern offers a maintenance-free approach to longer-range navigation requirements.
Made from tough U.V. stabilized poly carbonate, and using tiers of 36 ultra-high intensity LEDs as a light source, the OkSL125 model lantern is used by both private users and government agencies worldwide.
The lantern is available with up to 3 LED tiers for increased intensity.
The unit is also available as a complete assembly (OkSL125/C) - incorporating large 16watt adjustable solar modules and a 24ah battery in a heavy-duty design.

Lead Lights

The Ok-Sea light lead lights are a popular aid to marine navigation. The advanced LED leading lights are made up of either 48, 96 or 192 LED's housed in an IP66 rated heavy-duty enclosure.
The units operate off a standard 8 - 20 volt power supply, and can be configured to operate from a mains powered system with solar and battery back-up in the event of power failure.

Barge Running Lights

The Ok-Sea lite OkSL80 barge light is one of the most advanced in the industry, and is designed to operate reliably and independent of the vessel's power. The lantern uses LEDs as a light source, sectored into the required horizontal output. The unit will activate automatically at dusk, and continue to charge during daylight hours through the incorporation of two 5watt solar modules. An override 'on/off' switch allows the unit to be easily deactivated when not in service.

Anchor Lights

The Ok-Sea lite anchor light uses 10 ultra-high intensity LEDs as a light source, providing a 2 nautical mile range and is ideal as a white mooring light. The unit operates off 12v and draws only 120mA of current - draining minimal power from the vessel's battery.
Also available are variations of the configuration to include a number of required colors, horizontal output options and ranges of up to 3 nautical miles.

Lenses

As a designer and manufacturer of optical systems for use with LEDs, Ok-Sea lite is recognized worldwide as producing some of the most advanced lens and LED reflector (patents pending) designs.
A number of lens options such as high-dome and positive or negative divergence lenses may be fitted to many products on request.
Ok-Sea lite also recognizes that the high costs of producing these products is a barrier to many companies, and supplies a number of independent manufacturers throughout Europe and the U.S. with these components.
